From Hobby to Art
KeGia Art is a handmade craft brand established in 2015 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The brand specializes in creating ethnic accessories and bags that combine local natural beauty such as natural stones, woven fabrics, Kalbar songket, and kapuak bark.
The business began as a personal hobby. After leaving work and trying several businesses that didn't last, a love for crafting brought the founder of KeGia Art back to making accessories.
Initially, accessories were made for personal use. As many people showed interest, products began to be sold simply with limited capital, offered to mothers in school communities. From there, KeGia Art grew and became more widely known.
